Adventure Sailing
The purpose of Thorney Adventure Sailing (TAS) is to offer up to TISC members a different type of sailing exploring and cruising as a complimentary activity to the racing we are more used to seeing.
Whereas as racing is all about making your boat go as fast as it possibly can over a set course, Adventure Sailing involves a lot of other skills too, such as passage planning, reefing, mooring and anchoring, weather forecasting and general seamanship, as well as chatting, picnicking, eating ice creams and maybe even camping.
The Aim of TAS is to offer an easy and fun introduction to Adventure Sailing to those who may be looking for an alternative to racing, who would just like to explore the harbour (or beyond) in company, or who may not have the confidence just yet to set off on their own.
It is hoped that over the course of the season, those taking part will develop confidence and experience, to the point where they will feel comfortable setting off on their own trips around the harbour, or beyond.
