Short Course Racing/Plastic Fleet Racing

This is or premier series for Improvers who want to race. The courses are short and races are normally over several laps. We usually manage to run 3 short races on a raceday, each one lasting around about 30-40 minutes. There are two fleets racing at the same time , the Plastic Fleet for thermomoulded boats such as Pico's, Fusions, Hartley's,... and the SCR fleet which can be any type of boat from slow to super fast .. racing is handicapped so everyone is in with a chance.

There is full safety cover and every Raceday starts with a full briefing so even if you have never raced before, you will know just what you have let yourself in for before you go afloat. Racing is held in the sheltered waters of Thorney Channel over high tide and the racing rules are applied lightly .. no one gets disqualified in SCR/PF racing.

So if you want to have a go at competitive racing against people of similar ability, in similar boats and improve your sailing as you do it.. then this is the series for you.
