Junior Week Important Update

Yet again we have had a tremendous number of requests for participation on Junior Week this year, we typically can support around 60 children during the week - this year we have received applications for nearly double that number.

The organising committee have been discussing the best way to try and get as many involved as possible, within safety ratios and considering the resources that we have available to us.

As a result we are planning on doing something a little different this year, this may affect your children's participation or your involvement if you have volunteered to assist, so please read on.

In short we are going to be extending Junior Week by 2 days, and splitting it into 2 sessions, Beginners and Improvers.

Beginners (for those with No RYA Stages) will be 3 days from Sunday 30th July to Tuesday 1st August. Cost £120.

Improvers (for those with RYA Stage 1+) will be 4 days from Wednesday 2nd August to Saturday 5th August. Cost £140.

The presentation ceremony for all participants of BOTH sessions will be held on the afternoon of Saturday 5th August.

We feel this is the best way to ensure that the most children can benefit from the week - this change should ensure that all that have applied (that meet the age criteria) will get a place - you all should be aware that 100% of the people involved in the week are volunteers so we are very grateful for all the assistance that has been pledged already.

We are obviously aware that the revised dates may conflict with other activities in your diaries, and could cause some logistical challenges and we apologise for that but we are now committed to this change.

Please may I ask that if you would like to withdraw your child/children from the course please cancel their ticket using the Your Bookings link.

If you have volunteered, we would appreciate that you review your commitment based on the changes above and re-confirm your availability by updating your choices also using the Your Bookings link.

We are planning on letting people digest the above, and make any alterations necessary for the next few days - we will then issue tickets for the 2 sessions, and start planning the volunteer scheduling.
