Access to the Club

Your car pass permits you to access the Sailing Club and the boat parks by one route - all other parts of the Island are out of bounds.

Permitted routes are indicated in orange on the map below:

1. Take 1st left after the Gate Post and follow the signs to Thorney Island Sailing Club

2. It is no longer permitted to use the northern perimeter road to the boat park, you must transit toward the clubhouse, over the runways and turn left to go to the dinghy park, at some stage in the near future the northern perimeter road is to be fenced/gated to restrict access.

VEHICLES ARE NOT PERMITTED TO TAKE ANY SHORT CUTS THROUGH THE RESIDENTIAL AREAS VIA SMITH LANE OR THORNEY OLD PARK

These two routes are the only roads on the Station to which your pass allows you access, other than when visiting the Station Staff Office or the Guard Room. Members are not allowed to wander outside the Club leased area, but may use the public footpath round the island and the foreshore below the High Water mark.

Car Parking

It has been noticed that on occasion cars have been parking along Church Road. A reminder that we are NOT allowed to park in Church Road the Station Commander intends to take a hard line on this. If cars park in Church Road in future the registration numbers will be noted and the cars will be banned from the island.

Please be aware that there may be congestion in the car park, if it is full please use the spaces in the dinghy park and the overflow car park to the west of the officers mess, the only areas you are permitted to park are highlighted in yellow above.

Guest Access

Please see details here about non member access to the club.
