Booking Conditions

Course Format and Timings:

While the week is scheduled from 27th July - 2nd August, the daily structure will depend on participant numbers, their current RYA stages, and volunteer availability. As in previous years, we anticipate splitting the week the first three days for beginners, and the remaining for improvers but this will be confirmed once all applications and volunteer commitments are reviewed.

Allocation of Places:

Places will be offered based on availability of instructors and volunteers. Once you have registered online, successful applicants will receive confirmation via email and a payment request through GoCardless, once logistics have been confirmed - it is expected that confirmations will be sent in May 2025. A reserve list will be maintained and, where possible, additional places may be opened up closer to the event.

Course Delivery:

All arrangements are made in good faith, but we reserve the right to amend or cancel the course due to operational constraints. Achievement of RYA stages is not guaranteed and is dependent on weather, instructor availability, and individual progress. The safety of all participants is our priority, and the Senior Instructor may cancel activities if safety cannot be assured. All adult volunteers working one-on-one with children will hold valid DBS checks.

Photography:

Photographs may be taken during the week for promotional use. If you do not wish your child's image to be used, please inform the Commodore in writing.

Parent/Guardian Responsibilities:

The person making the booking must ensure the child is physically fit and disclose any relevant medical or behavioural conditions in writing. We reserve the right to exclude any participant who does not follow safety instructions or whose behaviour poses a risk or disruption to others.

Facilities:

Changing rooms and showers are expected to be available throughout the week. Drinks and snacks can be purchased from the clubhouse. Some refreshments will be provided, but each child will need a packed lunch daily, along with appropriate wet weather and sailing gear.

Insurance:

We strongly recommend that you have appropriate insurance for Junior Week. It is your responsibility to ensure that your policy includes cover for watersports.
