Dinghy Instructor Course

A week-long Dinghy Instructor course for experienced sailors who want to get involved in instruction. More details are on the RYA website here. If you are interested in doing this course but aren't quite sure if you're ready please chat to any of the Senior Instructors within the club.

The cost has yet to be determined but based on previous years will be about £200 to £220. If we can fill the course we keep the cost down to a reasonable amount, and we may be able to make up the numbers by inviting members from other clubs in the harbour as we have done in the past. This is significantly less than at other clubs but the expectation is that the instructors will help with training..

A deposit of £50 secures your place and you will be invoiced for the remaining amount when the course and price is confirmed.

The pre-entry requirements for the course are:

• You must be 16 years old or over
• Powerboat L2
• First Aid
• The RYA Safe & Fun safeguarding course (which can be done online through the ASA)
• Sailing pre-assessment

We hope that anyone attending the course will help out with Junior Week which will give new instructors the opportunity to practise with support from more experienced DIs and SIs.
