RYA Powerboat Level 2 (11th & 12th Sept)

The RYA Powerboat Level 2 course is a two-day entry level course which provides the skills and background knowledge needed to drive a powerboat and is the basis of the International Certificate of Competence (ICC). The majority of the course will be spent driving the club RIBs but students will also get experience in the club Jaffas. Once members have powerboat level 2 they can drive the club powerboats in support of club activities.
The Powerboat Level 2 course includes:
- Launching and recovery
- Boat handling under way (including high speed)
- Securing to a buoy
- Anchoring
- Leaving and coming alongside
- Man overboard
- Leaving and returning to pontoons
- Basic navigation
- Collision prevention regulations
- Plenty of theory!
Instructors:
- The instructors for this course will be Jen Tankard, Gus Ferenczy and Nick Jones.
Spaces:
- This course has 9 places rather than the usual 6 because the Army have kindly lent us one of their RIBs. Payment is required at time of booking
